Shape Cision's Narrative: Drive Impact Across Internal, PR, and Social Channels
Are you a strategic communicator with a passion for storytelling and audience engagement? Cision, a global leader in media intelligence, is seeking a dynamic Director of Communications to lead our integrated communications strategy across internal channels, public relations, and social media. In this high-impact role, you’ll help shape Cision’s brand story and connect with employees, media, and industry influencers across our core brands: CisionOne, PR Newswire, and Brandwatch.
Your Impact:
As Director of Communications, you’ll be responsible for ensuring cohesive, impactful messaging across internal and external channels. You’ll:
Inspire and Inform: Foster a connected and engaged workforce through strategic internal communications.
Elevate and Amplify: Enhance brand visibility and credibility through strategic PR and media relations.
Connect and Engage: Drive meaningful social media engagement and build thought leadership.
You'll collaborate seamlessly with executives, Marketing, People, and Product teams to deliver communications that elevate our brand and foster deep engagement.
Core Responsibilities
Internal Communications
- Develop and execute a comprehensive internal communications strategy aligned with company objectives, working in partnership with the VP of Communications and the People Leadership Team.
- Craft impactful executive communications, including CEO messaging, Town Hall presentations, and key announcements.
- Lead initiatives that foster a strong company culture, reinforce our values, and champion DEIB.
- Oversee the creation of engaging internal content, including newsletters, intranet updates, and impactful employee stories.
- Manage the communications calendar and contribute to strategic planning.
Public Relations & Social Media
- Develop and execute strategic PR campaigns to enhance brand visibility for Cision, CisionOne, PR Newswire, and Brandwatch.
- Collaborate with the VP of Communications and the PR agency to develop compelling press releases, media pitches, and thought leadership content.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with journalists, analysts, and influencers.
- Partner with Marketing and Product teams to leverage Cision’s data and insights for strategic media outreach.
- Support and guide social media strategy and execution across LinkedIn and X, focusing on brand elevation and engagement.
- Manage executive social media presence, positioning Cision’s leaders as industry thought leaders.
- Develop and execute real-time social media campaigns tied to PR initiatives, product launches, and industry events.
- Analyze campaign performance and provide actionable insights for optimization.
What You’ll Bring
- 10+ years of progressive experience in integrated communications, including internal communications, PR, and social media, preferably in B2B SaaS, media, or technology.
- A proven track record of crafting compelling narratives and messaging that resonate with diverse audiences.
- Expertise in executive communications, including internal messaging, social media engagement, and leadership content.
- Experience leading employee communications and engagement programs in a global, matrixed organization.
- Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills.
- Strong project management abilities, handling multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- A data-driven mindset for measuring and optimizing communications strategies

For Individuals based in New York, Illinois, Colorado, Washington, and California, Cision is required to disclose a salary range for this role. This compensation range is specific to these states, however base pay may vary depending on a range of relevant factors.
